Fire has no physical body. It needs something to burn. If the medium is removed the fire extinguishes.
- Fire’s life cycle begins in Spring (produced by wood).
- It attains its prime in Summer (hot).
- Fire mellows and declines (wood becomes scarce and metal becomes strong) in Autumn.
- Fire dies in Winter.

Contrary to popular notion, water is not hostile to fire. Fire needs water to moderate its dryness, especially in Summer, when water will balance and harmonize fire. Compatible.

Fire needs wood to express itself. Compatible.

Fire is compatible with itself, but in Summer when fire is at its height, some water is required to moderate it.
