BaZi is a classical Chinese metaphysical system that interprets the energetic blueprint present at the exact moment of your birth. Your chart is formed from four pillars: Year, Month, Day, and Hour. Each containing a “Heavenly Stem” and an “Earthly Branch”. Together, these eight characters reveal the underlying forces shaping your decisions, strengths, challenges, and timing cycles.

The 10 Heavenly Stems: Your Celestial Building Blocks
In Chinese metaphysics, the 10 Heavenly Stems are energetic standards that cycle through time. Each element appears in a Yang (active/bold) and Yin (gentle/receptive) pair, creating a harmonious balance for each of the five elements.

Each element has its own colour in nature and appears twice, once as Yang, Stems 1 to 5 (active, bold) and once as Yin Stems 6 to 10 (gentle, receptive). That gives us 10 stems:
